Dear Self,

Since I know you better than anyone and I know that you won’t listen to anyone’s advice i’m just going to walk you through some things.

It’s gonna hurt,it will hurt a lot. You will cry a lot, you will get upset a lot, you will hate yourself a lot and you will get destroyed at least 2 times in your life. One is at the beginning of your teenage years, second is as you run towards the end.

You will get through it, you might not know how but I promise you that you will. It won’t be easy, you will kick people out of your life, some of them deserve it but some of them don’t. You will get closer to people that you thought you would never be, one girl at your school that you thought didn’t like you will defend you the most, cherish that weird girl with the blue hair cause she will be there for you plenty of times.

You will learn a lot about yourself, you will become a whole different person. Fortunately or unfortuantely, you will still be that soft little girl deep inside, you will love people and you will care for others a lot, but you will become the best at defending yourself, speaking your mind and not letting toxic people in your life.

You will feel lonely, like no one likes you and no one will ever love you. You will doubt friendships, but I promise you that the ones that were meant to last, they will tag along with you. I want to tell you that you did pretty good for yourself, you will have dreams and goals, you will have some friends, you will be fine.

The nightmares will visit you sometimes, those scary thoughts will haunt you some nights, but you will shut them out and get a good night sleep. We both have a lot to learn, but I know that you can do a lot and you can go far, we will go far. The good thing is that you will actually hear an apology, from two people that you were so scared of.

Sometimes a nice guy won’t cut it. You will have to face the music and let the good guy go because it’s just didn’t feel right, it’s okay to do that, it’s okay to face reality, just take a deep breath and do it, trust me it will be better than you think it will.

Don’t yell at mom. She loves you more than anyone, those nights that you think you are alone she is listening you cry behind the door, she is the most precous human you got so try to make her happy cause she will always be there, it will get easier to talk to her, believe it or not she will become the first person you run to for advice about anything and everything.

I should have protected you more, I should have beeen smarter, I should have listened the others. But hey, everything happens for a reason, and the reason behind it is to make you stronger, tougher and make you see your potential in a lot of things.

Love,

Yourself.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
