Living in central New York, you can proudly say there is a good amount of food places to dine at as well as a leisure place for an evening with your significant other away from college work, work, roommates and housemates. Living up here in CNY, I have experienced many of meals, mostly Italian, that are unbelievably amazing in comparison to the Binghamton area. This week, this article is to intrigue couples or those wanting freedom out after a long day or a joyous day after doing fall activities. Here are a few recommendations I have for you.

Carmellas Cafe - New Hartford, NY

One of my favorite restaurants be cause the food is great and they do have great deals. This place can be found on route 5 B, Seneca Turnpike by the Sangertown Mall. It's an italian resturant, homemade pasta, amazing chicken riggies recipe with amazing bread! They also have good sandwiches! Lastly, if you are of age, they do have buy one get one drink special! check it out and enjoy!

The Soda Fountain Resturant - Remsen, NY

This place felt like it was out in the middle of no where but once you arrive, you can see the vintage 70s brought back to life. If you like the vintage McDonalds in North Utica, you will enjoy this restaurant with the checkboard floors, waitresses in dresses, classic music, you name it.

Venice pizzeria - Yorkville, NY

Home of the King sub! This place is found outside of west Utica towards Whitesboro on Oriskany Blvd among the many franchises around. This place is locally owned that you can always find this place pretty busy. The pizza and wings are really good for those evening hours, but the king size subs are perfect for two. Many times I would get one of this King size subs for lunch and share half with my girlfriend and we honestly would be feeling full before our next classes. If you want a hardy and filling meal, you should visit Venice!

Yetti's - Herkimer, NY

Going out eastward, one of my favorite places to go was Yetti's in downtown Herkimer. This place is located just behind Burger King on route 5S and if you want a nice Calzone, this is where you go. Around $8, I got a sausage, pepperoni Calzone from there, and I decided I wouldn't have another one just like it. These guys load their calzones so heavy that it looks like it'll explode. It honestly exploded my taste buds and I'm craving one now!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
