Getting over a breakup can be hard, in fact, sometimes it can seem downright impossible, but it’s also a great opportunity to reevaluate your life and start to focus on yourself. Being single is not as bad as some people make it out to be. In fact, there are some situations where it can be better for you than being in a relationship. What does being single mean?
1. More time to yourself. This means more time to write, catch up on homework, clean your room, and spend time with friends. Being in a relationship takes up a lot of your time without you realizing it, because your significant other competes for most of your free time. You might be surprised with how much free time you actually have now, and how many more opportunities you will have to catch up on things you missed out on while you were caught up in a relationship.

2. Extra money. You no longer have to feel obligated to spend money on anyone else. You don’t have to spend money on birthday, valentine’s, or Christmas gifts for anyone else(unless you want to), and everything you spend money on can now be for yourself.

3. Being able to focus on yourself. When you’re single, that is a great time to figure yourself out. Without the influence of someone else, you now get to be your truest self. Figure out what you like and who you want to be without anyone else influencing your opinions.

4. You don’t have to answer to anyone. You don’t have to feel bad about going out with your friends. You can do whatever you want, and flirt with whoever you want, too. Everything you decide to do, you won’t have to worry about feeling guilty or hurting someone else’s feelings.

5. No drama. All of the fights and disagreements you got in with your significant other are now over with. Your life will be a lot more peaceful now that you don't have to feel responsible for anyone else's feelings.

Do things because they make you happy, and not because of what anyone else thinks. This is your opportunity to shine.
