"Adults are only kids grown up, anyway." ---Dr. Seuss
Spending time with kids this summer has given me insight on what expression of true feelings and emotions looks like. While it seems like kids often act irrationally, if we older folks are being honest, a part of us wants to act the same way. Here are some examples:
1. The Pouter
When we as adults don't get what we want, we tend to suck it up and hide our sulkiness. Kids do the opposite and take on this pose:
2. The Screamer
Sometimes the hardest thing to do in a situation is hold your tongue when all you want to do is scream!
3. The Shy One
Situations like new classes, roommates, and living places can be super overwhelming and it is easy to have the temptation to hide from it all. I covet the shy kids who are quiet and watch the world whirl around them.
4. The Sleeper
This is the kid who is always tired and lays on the ground a lot. We can definitely relate to her!
5. The Diva
Do you ever just want to put on a show to get a bunch of attention? Ever find yourself vying for recognition by being over dramatic? Well, you might be like this guy.
6. The Sad One
With all the sadness and disappointment in this world, it's easy to wear a frown.
7. The Excited One
On the other hand, life can be so great, and it is even better to become excited and hopeful! I think that this emotion is what kids are best at expressing.
