If this isn't already known to you, it will be soon: College is a vastly different lifestyle than the one we grew up with all through high school. No longer are you forced to go to school each day or remain in class for the allotted time. College brings a whole lot more freedom into your life, as well as a heavy dose of stress.
For me the most stressful part of going to college was adjusting to living on my own. I really took living at home for granted; I had no bills to pay, and there was always dinner waiting for me in the evening.
Moving out was a very drastic change for me and it caused some major stress for the first couple of days. What was most stressful for me was the adjustment to living with someone else, someone you probably don't know all that well. Word of advice: get to know your roommate(s) when you first move in. Lay down ground rules and other important things that concern both of you. Hiding in your room like a recluse and avoiding your roommate is not the way to go. Trust me, I tried that and things were awkward for a month or two. Talking with who ever you live with solve about 90 percent of the problems that arise.
Another helpful tip is get used to pasta and ramen, because that becomes a heavy staple in a college student's diet. If you're like me and can't be bothered to wait around cooking a big meal, pasta is a fairly quick lunch or dinner. Plus it's a relatively cheap meal, which can go along way when you're trying to save up your pennies.
Just remember that the first couple of weeks in any new setting are always going to be stressful. Change can be intimidating, but it will help you grow as a person.
