So here we are, in the midst of exams, and we are all dying for a taste of that summer freedom. I'm sure we can all think of more than one reason that we want summer here ASAP, but here is a list of the 10 reasons college students really long for summer so badly.

10. My summer job

Everybody has some sort of summer job. Some are totally rad (like being a camp counselor or a lifeguard at the beach) and some are super sucky (like bagging groceries or cleaning the pool at your local gym) but no matter what, they are all special. Summer jobs are an escape from school, a new environment, new people, new activities, just something different! And after a whole nine-ish months at college, we all need something different. But most importantly, summer jobs let us rack up on the cash. Whether you are living and working at home, away, or at school, you are probably making more money than you were during the semester so save up that cash and buy yourself something nice!! (Even though we all know it will be used for textbooks or Greek dues, but hey, you dont have to think about that for another few months.

9. Food

Or at least the opportunity to eat somewhere that is not your campus dining hall or Ramen from your microwave. You all know what I'm talking about so I think we can just move on.

8. Sunshine

No matter how beautiful your campus is, chances are that you spent more time inside studying, in class, working, eating, sleeping, etc. than you did enjoying that beautiful campus. I know I did. Summer is a time when we can get outside and feel the sun on our skin, the wind in our hair, the grass between our toes, and the fresh air in our lungs. And even if you like sitting indoors, you will at least get the chance to open the blinds and let some of that sunlight burn your pale skin and say "Gosh I love summer!"

7. Summer wardrobe

I know I am not the only one who would prefer to spend every day in my chacos, norts, a huge T-shirt, messy bun, and no makeup. There is no need to do my hair, put on jeans, or smother makeup all over my face, unless I feel like it! If I want to go out on a warm summer night I can make my tan self feel flawless with beachy waves and a sun dress, and still be more comfortable that if I were at school any day of the year. Guys, I know you feel me on this one too. Because during the summer, no matter who you are, you can be as sweaty and gross as you want because everyone is sweaty and gross! You get to wear sandals everyday or your old shirts from high school and no one judges you because that is summer and summer is perfect.

6. Summer nights

Now I have already touched on this, but summer nights are the best kind of nights. You can wear what you want, eat what you want, and the weather is perfect! Who doesn't love riding to some summer adventure with the windows down and that warm summer air making your perfectly tousled hair stick to your lip gloss? Summer nights are spent with old friends and new friends. You explore new places, new relationships, and you don't have to worry about making it to your 8 o'clock class the next morning. Can it get any more perfect?

5. Vacation

Summer vacations can come in any size, shape, or form. You can go to the mountains, the beach, the prairie, the jungle, or the city. You can spend all your money or none of it. You can stay in the country or go out. No matter what you do, a vacation is a time when you get to completely relax and have fun. Whether it is on the beach with your family or exploring a trail in the woods with your dog, everyone needs a vacation to relax, refresh, and recharge your mind, body, and spirit for another full year. So take as many vacations as possible, big or small, and enjoy every moment of them.

4. Sleep

Some of the most intense thinking that we students do in college is about sleep. "Do I need to sleep tonight or keep studying to pass this exam in the morning? If I go to sleep now, exactly how many minutes will I be able to sleep before I have to go to my next class? I'm going to hit snooze another time because I know it takes seven minutes to walk to class and I only need two minutes and 43 seconds to get ready." But during the summer, you don''t have to worry about any of that. Of course we all have responsibilities, but for the most part, sleep is the number one priority. Finally.

3. I miss my mom

No matter who you are, you go home to someone. Whether it is your parents, grandparents, siblings, or just the old lady at the grocery store that smiles at you, it is always good to be home and spend time with those people. I miss my family every single day of college. And yeah, Ill go home for a few days and then be ready to leave again, but being with loved ones warms the heart and soothes the soul. Ill start crying if I think about it anymore so I will stop there. (But if that doesn't do it for you, they will probably at least cook you food or give you some money while you are home so there is that.)

2. I miss my dog

Let's be honest, one of the things that sucks most about school is that your pet doesn't sleep with you in your bed anymore. During the summer there is a silly little pet face greeting you at the door when you walk in, and that silly pet thinks that you are the bomb.com and no one in the universe is better than you. That is a freaking great feeling and it only happens then you are home for the summer. So take it all in because no one at school loves you that much. #lesbehonest

1. School is hard

Yeah, that's the number one reason. Because no matter how much we love our school and out friends, school is hard and stressful and exhausting. We all need a break and summer is coming just in time.

So take these next three months and enjoy every single second. Because summer wont last forever. Winter is coming.

(Also, "GoT" is a reason that summer rocks. Just saying.)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
