Being the oldest child obviously has its perks. The oldest child technically does "adult things" first. I, myself left the nest a year ago to study in San Francisco. San Francisco is one of the most expensive cities to live in. My father has invested a lot of money in me just by me moving to this city, just like any father would for their own children. I decided that it was time to take investments into my own hands when one of my classmates introduced an application called Acorns. Since I use my debit card a lot Acorns turned out to benefit me. It's a blessing for someone to always have your back but I'm getting older and with it comes independence. Investing my money is just a start.
Does Acorns really work?
Acorns is an investment app that rounds up ones every purchase with a debit card - usually Acorns rounds up to the nearest dollar. For example, if you buy a cheeseburger that is seven dollars and forty-seven cents. Acorns invests the remaining fifty-three cents to round up to a dollar, investing within the application. If you'd like to invest more, there are several options for that too. Your banking information is needed but money is only transferred if authorized to do so. If there are insufficient funds within the account, Acorns will pause and continue once more money is in the account. Within the app there are also check all the money saved up throughout the process. One can also withdraw that money if necessary or if they choose not to continue with Acorns.
I recommend to give it a try. The Acorns App is easy to use and simple to understand. If you do not understand some parts of the app, there are videos within the app to show you how it works.
