1. Start Early
This is an important step that's often left out. Outlining, in the long run will save you time when writing your essay because it will be easier to stay on task and know what to write next.
3. Print it out
I ALWAYS print out my first draft in order to edit it since reading in on my computer causes me to miss errors I would otherwise see on paper.
4. Read it over yourself
It's much easier to point out your own errors and to see what you meant to say since you're the only one who really knows what you're trying to say.
5. Have a friend read it over
A friend reading it over shows you how someone else interprets your writing.
6. Go to the writing lab
Having a professional or someone talented enough to be a writing tutor read it will be helpful for grammatical errors and its a great final edit for your essay.
And Voila! You've got a killer essay!
