For most of my life, coffee disgusted me. It's painful to admit that I once thought it tasted like dirt and immediately spit it out whenever I took a sip.
Then last year, my friends changed my tastebuds forever. They got into the routine of going out to Starbucks or brewing a fresh pot of coffee every morning, so I started drinking it so I wouldn't be left out. I slowly got used to the taste and dose of caffeine.
Now, I've tried dozens of different kinds and brands, I know what I like and what I don't. I'm at the point where going to my 8am class without any coffee is my worst nightmare. I'd honestly drink it all day long if the caffeine wouldn't keep me up all night.
Anyways, ever since I discovered my love for coffee, lattes, and tea, I've been visiting new cafes like crazy to find my favorite ones in Boston. The city is huge and I haven't been to a fraction of the places that serve my favorite things, but I noticed that out of all the places I've gone to, I keep coming back to the Thinking Cup.
The Thinking Cup has locations in the Boston Common, the North End, and Back Bay. Since the Common is only a few steps away from my campus, I tend to visit that one the most.
When I visit a new place and am unsure if I will like anything, I order a chai latte, so of course that's the first thing I ever ordered there. But I don't regret it because it was absolutely delicious. Since then, I've become a big fan of the vanilla latte. I also like to order muffins with my drink because the ones there are some of the best I've ever had. Sometimes I'm not even in the mood for one but they are too good to resist!
The inside seating area isn't big and the café is usually filled with people, but I love that because it creates a more intimate atmosphere.
Sitting inside at a table or booth to work on assignments or hang out with friends is always fun. Everyone there is really friendly, so even if you're alone, you're bound to strike up a conversation with someone.
So, if you're a fellow Bostonian or just visiting the city, check out the Thinking Cup if you have the time. Hopefully, it will become one of your favorite places too!
