Whether you're a choir kid because you choose to be, or just for the scholarship or credit, all choir kids have a mutual understanding of what happens during a rehearsal or performance.

Here are the ABCs of being a choir kid:

A is for altos

Otherwise known as "the queens of harmonies"

B is for basses

Hitting notes so low that Avi Kaplan would be proud

C is for character shoes

Blisters and band-aids for days

D is for directors

Every choir has to have their fearless leader

E is for eating

It's what us choir kids do best.

F is for focus

You have more some days than others

G is for ghosty slides

Halloween all year round, even during vocal warmups

H is for harmonies

The alto's best friend

I is for itchy dresses

Sequins and glitter and everything in between

J is for jazz hands

"Aaannnnddddd BIG finish!"

K is for keyboards

All the instruments built into one

L is for lunch dates

Stress-free lunch with your best choir friends. Like I said earlier, us choir kids like to eat.

M is for Melodies

Harmony's big sister

N is for new songs

It's like Christmas, and who doesn't love Christmas?!

O is for "one more time"

Also means, "ten more times."

P is for Piano

What would you do without it?

Q is for question marks

Because no one ever really knows what is going on

R is for repertoire

It could be 2 songs or 10 songs, you never really know

S is for Sopranos

You hit those high notes, girl

T is for Tenors

Falsetto, boys, falsetto

U is for unison

Unison songs are the best songs

V is for vowels

"a, e i, o, u and sometimes y and w"

W is for "What's for lunch?"

A question that gets asked on the daily

X is for "X this out"

I hope you brought your pencil

Y is for "Y'all suck"

Everyone needs to be knocked off their high horse every once in a while

Z is for Zzzzzzzzz

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
