I'm Picky AF About The Scents I Like, But Even I Go Wild Over These Perfumes

Perfumes and colognes are usually offensive to my sense of smell, so there is only a handful that I like.

I'm Picky AF About The Scents I Like, But Even I Go Wild Over These Perfumes

Also, just a disclaimer, I'm more partial to colognes. Mostly because the majority of perfumes are too sweet for my preferences. And male scents are usually more on the mild side so that's a plus--no one wants to be the person who smells obnoxiously loud. Smelling bad is one thing, but smelling bad PLUS a ton of fragrance ON TOP of body odor is a million times worse. These are just my personal favorite scents so here goes:

Perfumes:

  1. Harajuku Lovers Baby by Gwen Stefani
  • This scent is actually the same perfume that I've been using since middle school. It's a very mild scent and that's why I like it. It's not too sweet and also it's not very strong. It has hints of baby powder (thus the name baby) and floral notes. I still use this perfume to this day as it's my daily go-to fragrance.
  1. YSL Mon Paris Couture
  • I recently just purchased this perfume. And surprisingly, I actually really like it. It's sweet, but not too sweet and also it's not too floral. I usually stay away from perfumes because I don't like sweet or floral scents, but this perfume is actually really nice. It has a hint of sweetness and it's also mildly warm at the same time.
  1. Tokidoki Eau de Toilette in Adios
  • Tokidoki is actually a brand that used to be sold at Sephora, but they haven't been in stores for a while now. This perfume is very unisex which is why I like it. It's a very fresh and a crisp scent

Colognes:

  1. Bleu de Chanel
  • I love bleu de Chanel. It's such a classy fragrance. I would describe the scent as crisp, fresh, and overall just clean. It's not overbearingly strong either so it's a really nice smell. In my humble opinion, it's honestly a timeless fragrance and anyone who uses this scent really knows what they're doing.
  1. Mr. Burberry
  • I only recently came across this fragrance. It's warm and earthy, but also crisp like blue de Chanel. Although this one won't break your bank. It's similar to Chanel, but it also really is nice in its own way. Overall, a classy clean and fresh scent. (I'm just realizing how difficult it is to describe fragrances in words)

I haven't really dabbled in too many colognes (mostly because I'm a girl), but for the most part, this is my list of favorite fragrances. Try them out at a store some time and test them for yourself, let me know what you think!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
