18 Things To Know Before Dating A Firefighter

For the last 8 months I have been dating the most amazing guy. He is a firefighter, a correctional officer, and a full time student. He treats me with respect and shows me lots of love. With being a firefighters girlfriends comes lots of other things.

1. The Family

The fire department is one big family. The Christmas party and othe functions is always filled with lots of love and fun.

2. You may be late to some things

They can’t help when they get calls so this mean when the tones drop it’s time for them to go. At first it’s hard to get use to but I have came to realize that a person needs them more than you do. That person may be trapped in a overturned vehicle or their house may be one fire. For that amount of time that person needs my firefighter more than I do.

3. The Worry

There will always be worry. What if they don’t come back? This has crossed my mind multiple times. This is when you ask God to look over them and help them protect that individual or family for that short amount of time.
