If 90s Cartoon Characters Were College Boyfriends

The 90's/early 2000's cartoons have a very cherished place in the hearts of those who grew up with them. But what would happen if we envisioned what some of those characters would be like as college boyfriends? Well, in case you were curious, it would probably look something like this:

Dexter

Pros: You admire how intelligent he is and you find comfort in the fact that he is clearly going places after college (and will hopefully take you with him!) Helloooo stay-at-home-mom!

Cons: He can easily make you feel inferior to him, and is always running off to some secret place he never tells you about. (And unless you dig short guys...)

Doug

Pros: You find his quirkiness kind of endearing. He's a sensitive guy with some unusual hobbies, and that makes him special.

Cons: He's not confident enough in his own skin, and wants to be like other college guys. And sometimes his imagination keeps him in the clouds too long.

Arnold

Pros: He's extremely sweet, kind, and loyal. He's very sentimental and is always a good listener. He will go to any length to make you happy, and that just warms your heart.

Cons: Though sweet, he can seem very subdued. Sometimes even boring. He is also pretty clingy and moves too fast- especially after he finds out you like him-like him.

Rocko

Pros: You know he's not the smartest guy there is (see Cons below), but he makes you feel needed. You can let loose with him, because he loves to have a good time.

Cons: Like we said, he's not the most knowledgeable man on campus. He's pretty scatter-brained and can't seem to adjust to the college life.

Johnny Bravo

Pros: Dat bod. Yeah- he lifts. And he's actually a pretty good dancer. He makes you feel desired and will pull out all the stops for a night of romance.

Cons: You constantly catch him staring at and flirting with other girls. He can be super pushy when it comes to what he wants from you. Totally noncommittal.

Ash

Pros: He is very passionate about what he loves to do and puts his all into it. You admire his ambition and determination. Plus the fact that he always tells you, "I choose you."

Cons: His passion can quickly turn into something that consumes him. He's spending all his time focusing on a goal. He has to be the very best, and won't stop until he has it ALL.

Otto

Pros: His sense of adventure is unparalleled. He's athletic, but not a gym rat. And he's definitely got swag.

Cons: He has a tendency to overreact. And sometimes he seems a little toooo chill, leaving you feeling like you're too uptight (and you're totally not high maintenance!)

The Professor

Pros: He's an older man, so he's established. He'll take care of you and he really is a nice guy. And you're definitely getting an A in that college Chem class.

Cons: He already has three kids. And you could never live up to how important they are to him. Or to the whole town for that matter.

Which of these throwback cartoon studs is right for you?? ;)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
