I love dogs. I can’t even tell you how much I love dogs without sounding like a crazy person. I’m the person who stops whatever I’m doing if there is a dog around so that I can pet it. Every time I see a cute dog video on Facebook, I send it to my boyfriend. And every time I go home, I can’t wait to snuggle up with my dogs on the couch. I know, this makes me crazy or whatever. But here’s the thing; dogs are compassionate, loving, and so full of personality. Which is why I identify as a dog person. There’s been this unspoken battle between dog people and cat people forever (probably). Most people have a pretty good handle on which side of the fence they’re on, but if you’re unsure then keep reading. Or, if you just love dogs as much as me and need something to relate to, also keep reading.
1. Everything you own is covered in dog hair
You have a closet full of clothes covered in hair. You’ve got a bed full of hair. You’ve got a house full of hair. But none of it fazes you. It’s just another part of having your little friends live in your house.
2. Slobber ain’t a thang
Yes, dogs drool. And yes, dogs drool on you. But so what, you can wash your hands. You’re just thankful that you’re getting one on one time with your favorite furry pal.
3. My bed is your bed
A lot of people hate letting dogs on their bed. A lot of dog people hate having dogs on their bed. I actually am one of those dog people who hates it. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t let it happen. I know how comfy my bed is, and when my little fur ball curls up in my side when I’m asleep in bed, I have zero complaints. Sheets can be washed.
4. Seeing a dog die in a movie is worse than seeing a person die
Bad guys, kill all the people you need to kill. But please, please do not kill any dogs.
5. You act tough, but you’re not
You could have seventy tattoos on your face and literally eat nails for breakfast, but the moment you see a dog, it’s over. You’re a sucker for their little smiles and loving eyes. So, keep eating nails, but I’ll throw a golden retriever puppy your way when I think it’s time for you to show some emotion.
6. You do whatever your dog wants
Your dog wants you to jump off a cliff, would you do it? Yeah.
7. Everything you own has teeth marks in it and you don’t care at all
Every dog goes through a chewy phase. So what if that happens to be my favorite shoe? Please, I want you to chew the other one because it makes you happy.
8. Their happiness is your happiness
Seeing a happy dog, makes you a happy person.
9. After everything, they're your best friend
Happy tail wagging!
