These days we have so much access to movies and TV. Back in the day, you used to have to record your favorite show on a VHS tape and watch it later (lame). Now, with Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo, and so many other streaming services, we have the best movies at our fingertips. Since most of us college kids spend all day Sunday laying in bed recovering from our weekend and binge-watching Netflix, here's a list of the top throwback movies you probably forgot about and need to watch. Like right now.
1. "Grease"
It'll have you pulling out that poodle skirt costume from Halloween and singing your heart out before you know it. As if you don't remember all the words to "Summer Nights" and "You Are the One I Want!" Didn't we all wish we would find our own Danny Zuko one summer? Ahh the memories.
2. "The Nightmare Before Christmas"
There is no better time than literally right now to watch this movie, with Halloween having just ended and everyone popping in their Christmas albums in anticipation for the upcoming season.
3. "Zoolander"
This movie will never not be funny. Blue Steel is still relevant and the jokes have definitely held up over the years. Now is the perfect time to watch it in anticipation for the second one, which will be premiering sometime in 2016! We're all still wondering if there's more to life other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking.
4. "Accepted"
Now that we're in college, don't you wish your university experience went a little more like the experience of those attending South Harmon Institute of Technology? Where can I sign up for Do Nothing 405 or Advanced Skepticism 401? And I definitely know a few people that could benefit from a course in Wingman-ing 101. PS. this is a thing.
5. "Rent"
Had a rough weekend and feeling like you need a good cry? Get those tissues ready and maybe grab a hair brush or something to sing into because this movie is a classic and is sure to take your emotions on quite the roller coaster ride. I already have the chills just thinking about "Seasons of Love."
6. "Blue Crush"
The most badass female surfer movie out there? I think yes. When this movie came out in 2002 there wasn't a single girl who didn't aspire to move to Hawaii and become a pro-surfer, because how awesome did that seem? That final surf competition scene never ceases to make your heart pound out of your chest.
7. "Spy Kids"
The first and second films though, because those are by far the best. Between the incredibly awesome gadgets in the first film and the crazy mutant animals in the second film, the excitement is still real. You definitely don't need to be a kid to still enjoy these movies, in case you were worried.
8. "Clueless"
It's a cult classic for a reason. The day that they invent the closet system Cher had will be the best day of our lives. And of course, RIP Brittany Murphy; "You're a virgin who can't drive" will forever be the harshest burn anyone could ever give.
9. "High School Musical"
Don't even try to pretend like you don't know ever word to every song. Just let it happen and admire that killer swoop hair Zac Efron had when he was an innocent singing basketball player and before he became a reckless (but super hot) frat boy. Relive those glory days when we all still believed Zanessa would be forever *sigh.*
