Nine Thoughts I Have When Looking Back At Old Facebook Photos

Every once in awhile, we all look back on our old Facebook albums or Instagram posts. You school all the way back to 200 weeks ago and you are just shocked. You can't believe you put these photos on social media at some point. Whether it was an awful selfie, a trying to be artsy photo, or just a picture of a random dog, you shake your head and sign that these were posted, but you also take a second to laugh at yourself. Here are nine thoughts or photos I have when I look back at my old photos.

1. What was I wearing????

We all have those photos in a hideous outfit somewhere out there. Whether is was in the ever so fashionable Aeropostale zip up hoodie, flare blue jeans, or a juicy couture jacket, you look back and can't believe you left the house wearing that, let alone posted on social media.

2. Why was my hair like that?

Side bang, side pony, side part. All hair back then had to do with one side of your head. You look back and can't believe your mom let you have your hair like that.

3. The awkward peace sign picture

This picture can be found on everyones 8th grade photo on Facebook. Double peace sign was way cooler than the single. Looking back I am not sure why we did this?

4. Braces and glasses were cool photo

It didn't matter if you had braces and your selfies showed everyone what color rubber bands you got that month. Glasses were also acceptable as well. The awkwardness of these photos is unreal.

5. The full body mirror pic selfie

You had to show off that new outfit and the easiest way was to take a selfie with your iPod touch. You may have stuck your tongue out or thrown a peace sign in there again. Looking back you can't help but laugh at how awkward these photos are.

6. The random photos as a status pictures

You probably posted a picture of something really random like a flower pot or your back yard or a random meal you ate to let all your followers and friends know what you were doing.

7. The sports selfie

You waned everyone to know you had a basketball, soccer, or volleyball game, so you posted a picture on Facebook of yourself in your uniform. You took the selfie before the game of course.

8. The movie theater/mall selfie

You and your friends probably did one or both of these. You would go into the bathroom and take a selfie so that everyone knew you were out shopping or at the movies with your friends. If you took a selfie at the mall, it was probably a mirror pic in a dressing room. These always make me laugh.

9. Posting your presents

We all did this or know someone who did this. Got a cool gift for Christmas or your birthday? You probably Instagrammed or posted to Facebook. Looking back you feel like such a brat for doing that.

Looking back, you might hate yourself for posting some of these photos, but in reality it is something to look back and smile about. These photos are reminders of how much fun you had and how much you did not care about what others thought of you. I love looking back at photos and laughing at how funny and awkward I was. So go take a look at your old Facebook albums and see if you had any of these photos!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
