We're kind of special. We not only are taller than the average girl, but we're usually taller than most of the guys too. Trust me tall girls, I know your struggles. Most of us have had to deal with these things our whole lives.

1) "Omg, you're so tall. You have to play basketball"

Yes, I actually did play basketball. But that isn't true for every tall girl. We actually do all kinds of things, like volleyball, soccer, band, etc.

2) When people ask how the weather is up there

It's great. It's actually exactly the same as your weather two inches lower. Thanks for asking though.

3) We get called very rude things

I've been called all kinds of things... Amazon, Twin Tower, Goliath. I was even called Chewbacca once.

4) That awkward moment when we tower over guys

We really are sorry that we are taller than you. We feel just as awkward as you do, so please don't hate us so much.

5) "Can you reach this for me?"

Literally, at least once a day.

6) When people ask me if it's hard to find a boyfriend

No, really there are guys that are much taller than me. But, yeah middle school was kind of a struggle.

7) Finding clothes long enough

It was really a struggle when the high school dress code was dresses have to come down to your knees. Honestly, Mr. Mason, do you really think I can find a dress that long?

8) Should we wear heels?

I never really can make the decision. Sure it makes my outfit look good, but is it really work being 3 inches taller when I'm already 5 inches taller than most girls to begin with?

9) When we can't borrow anyone else's clothes

My friends have really cute clothes... and shoes. But I can't wear any of them. It will never fit.

Okay, it really isn't THAT bad being tall, but it does bring some extra problems into every day life. To all the tall girls out there who can understand my trouble, I feel you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
