I don't know about you, but I am so over people using the description "hot" as a reason to be interested in someone. Yes, being found attractive is great, but there is so much more to a person than that. More importantly than being a person who is more than attractive, is being with a person who sees you for more than that.

Here's nine qualities you should look for in a person before attractiveness.

1. Authentic

I swear being original and genuine is so underrated nowadays. Everyone is so obsessed with fitting in that we forget the beauty in standing out. There's really no bigger compliment than someone seeing the difference in you and loving you for it. I don't think you'll ever feel fulfilled in relationships or friendship if you're not your true authentic self, so don't waste your time trying. Let someone see you for who you are.

2. Intelligent

Beauty is great, but brains are everything. Intelligence isn't always measured by the amount of years spent in school or your GPA, but sometimes by the way you look at life, your dedication and drive in your career, and the ability to know right and wrong. It's important to be intelligent enough to make smart choices for yourself and those around you.

3. Loving

There's nothing more venerable than letting yourself love. Real love is so raw and real that there isn't another thing more powerful. Being a loving person is one of the most important qualities a person can have. Whether it's loving yourself, loving those around you or loving life — everyone needs to experience the power of being loved and loving.

4. Hard Working

No matter how much money or how many possessions you have, hard work is always important. Nothing will get you further in life than being a hard-working person when it comes to your relationships and your career.

5. Loyal

The ability to be loyal to partners, friends and even businesses is something so unappreciated today. We often take everyone for granted and forget the importance of staying true to anything, especially those around us. There is no better trait than loyalty to look for in someone else, so any of us should be happy to have that ourselves.

6. Trusting

Finding it in ourselves to trust who we are, the people around us and God's plan isn't as easy as it sounds. A lot of people struggle with this aspect of their lives, often changing their ways after being burned once by someone. Being able to trust is key to enjoying life, and surrounding yourself by those worthy of being trusted is also important

7. Understanding

It takes a special skill to be able to put yourself in someone else's shoes and understand their situation. Not everybody can view things from another viewpoint, so being understanding is definitely not something to be taken lightly. It's also important to understand that not everything works out how we except it to, and that's OK.

8. Creative

Putting all your thoughts and emotions into writing, art, music or any other outlet is a hard thing for a lot of people. If you are able to express yourself in a creative way, you are an exceptional person.

9. Worldly

I'm not talking about just seeing the world, but understanding the places you’re not. It's important to understand your privilege. Not everyone was blessed with being in born into the same location, financial status, love or acceptance as you. Many people don't realize the things they should be thankful for on a daily basis.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
