Well, it’s May, and finals are right around the corner. Everyone is starting to get nostalgic of the school year and leaving their college friends, all to simply go home and live in a home involving curfews, rules, work, etc. Well I’m here to tell you it ain't all that bad.
Summer is a time to decompress, enjoy time with your loved ones, and focus on yourself. At college, we tend to be so “on the go.” There’s never a second of boredom. No wonder we’re sick all the time! We run ourselves to the ground and essentially both our bodies and mentality need a break.
Though some people get anxious about leaving college, here's some positive things to look forward to coming home to.
1. Family time.
For those of you who are like me and call your parents at least 12 times a day, now you don’t have to! You get the real deal!
2. Pets.
Name a better scenario than your dog swimming around in a pool. I'll wait.
3. Time for yourself.
You never get the chance to be alone at school, take the time to just hear your own thoughts for once!
Read a book, take a nap, take up a new hobby like baking or something. The world is your oyster!4. No schoolwork.
Unless you have the motivation to take summer classes… in that case, I feel for you!
5. You don't have to buy groceries.
Hello home cooked meals on mom's budget!
6. Making money.
Yeah, the actual work isn't that great, but checking that bank account is no longer a nightmare!
7. Warm weather.
You know what that means! Hella beach trips!
8. Time to get back in shape.
Detox your body from the 2 AM pizza sessions you have at school!
9. Road trips to see your friends.
You thought you could go 3 months without seeing them? No chance!
