As someone who grew up sorta watching "Grey's Anatomy" with my mother--only to become absolutely obsessed with it as I became old enough to understand it--I've come to realize that there is a HUGE fans that are obsessed and in love with this show. So whether you're a binge-watcher like me, or someone that has patiently waited for every episode since 2005, you know that this show is worth the time commitment. Haters can say all they want, but there are certain jokes and moments that only us Grey's fans will truly understand!
1. Your best friend is now referred to as "your person."
Your person is with you through it all, even if you both nearly die in a shooting or plane crash. Because those are totally things that all normal friends go through.
2. You find it so unfair that none of your real doctors have ever been as attractive as those at Grey-Sloan Memorial.
I mean it's just insanely unfair how many attractive people this hospital has all in one place.
3. Attractive men are all given McNicknames within your friend group.
Not that any of those men you see will come close to McDreamy or McSteamy. *sigh*
4. You have an extreme love-hate relationship with the show's writer, Shonda Rhimes.
Sure, she created all of those happy moments on the show, BUT SHE KILLED A LOT OF PEOPLE TOO.
5. Making a character your favorite is always dangerous, because then they'll probably die (RIP 007).
If you're over the death of George, you have to be cold-blooded. I mean THE ELEVATOR SCENE?? REALLY SHONDA?? *sobs*
6. Speaking of characters dying, there's no such thing as a death that didn't rip out your heart and soul, causing you to cry uncontrollably. THANKS SHONDA.
I'm not even going to discuss every death that wasn't necessary, because let's be real, NONE OF THEM WERE.
7. You wonder if real-life hospitals have this much sex going on within their walls.
I don't understand why they even bother to call it an on-call room at this point. It's actually a sex dungeon.
8. Meredith can really get under your skin sometimes.
We get it. You're dark and cloudy. Would it kill you to react to things a LITTLE more normally? Just sometimes?
9. ... But at least she has a great group of friends to help her get through it all.
Through all the good and the bad, as the years go by her friends have gotten her through everything. Several of them have quite literally saved her life. We all should strive to have a family of friends as awesome as Meredith's. #SquadGoals
