We're twins, pinky promise.

9 Things Fraternal Twins Want You To Know

Yes, I'm a twin. No, we're not identical. Being fraternal, people often doubt that we're twins. Constantly having to prove that we're twins has gotten really old, really fast. So here are a few things we'd like you to know:

1. Yes, we're twins even if we don't look alike.

I'm tall. She's short. I've got straight hair and blue eyes. She's got curly hair and hazel eyes. We might not look the same but we're still twins. My mother can attest to that. We shared a womb and entered the world together. Our physical differences don't make that any less true.

2. No, we're not lying to you.

This isn't a joke. We're being completely serious. We're twins, pinky promise.

3. We don't understand why you care which of us is older.

We don't get it. Does it really matter which one of us is 60 seconds older?

4. We hate dressing alike.

No, we will not be dressing alike anytime soon. We were forced to do it when we were little. It was cute for like a day and now it's just a nightmare we try to forget.

5. We can be polar opposites and still be twins.

Don't assume that just because we are twins we act the same. We are two completely different individuals. We act like any other pair of siblings.

6. We're not 'The Twins.' We have names.

You'd think since we don't look alike people would call us by our individual names. Well, you'd be wrong. We still get lumped together as 'The Twins' and, if we're being completely honest, it's kind of annoying.

7. It's not all that exciting because we don't look alike

Don't get me wrong, I love being a twin. However, since we don't look alike, it's not as much fun as you'd think. There was no taking tests for each other. There was no trading places. And there was no helping each other with boys. Really, what's the fun in being a twin if you can't pull off the classic twin shenanigans?

8. Twin telepathy isn't a thing

No, I can't read her mind and she can't read mine. Even though I can't actually read her mind, I've got a pretty good idea what's going on with her most of the time...I mean I've known her my whole life.

9. We don't do everything together. We don't tell each other everything.

People automatically make this assumption. What they don't seem to realize is we've got our own lives and we've both got our secrets. We're together a lot but sometimes we need our space from each other. We tell each other the important things but we don't disclose every detail to each other.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
