To some people, there is nothing more comforting and relaxing than cozying up with a great book. Reading is an excellent way to de-stress after a long day and immerse ourselves in an exciting, new world for a while. We grow emotionally attached to characters, and we find ourselves excitedly flipping to each new page, hungry for more. When a beloved book character dies, we mourn them as if they were a real person. When we finish a book or a series we're really passionate about, we experience post-book (or series) depression. If any of these feelings sound familiar, odds are you're a bookworm. Here are 9 feelings every bookworm like yourself knows all too well.
1. You always carry a book with you, wherever you go, hoping you'll have some spare time to read a few pages.
You manage to find time to read pretty much anywhere, even if it's only a page or two. For this reason, you always have a book on hand. Ballet lesson? Bring your book. Maybe you'll be able to read during stretches. Going to an appointment? Bring your book. You'll probably have time to sneak a few pages in while you're in the waiting room.2. Sometimes you can read for hours on end without even realizing it.
One page turns into 10 pages and 10 pages turns into... the whole book. You can remember at least one occasion when you stayed up late at night, frantically trying to finish a book before you went to sleep.3. You always have to read the book, before you see the movie.
After watching some of your favorite books be turned into movies, you are well-aware that the books are almost always better. So, when you know a new movie is coming out, you insist on reading the book first, even if this means seeing the movie a little later than you had planned.4. When your favorite fictional character dies, so does a part of you.
5. Nothing irritates you more than someone interrupting you while you're reading.
6. When you meet someone who shares your love of reading, you get extremely excited.
7. Walking into a library is like being welcomed home.
