1. Why is no one else concerned about finals?

During dead days the library was fairly emptied. Obviously people were going out and hanging out with friends on Thursday and Friday, but once the weekend rolled around, it didn't seem like finals week. The lack of studying surrounding me made me wonder why no one else was stressed about finals?

2. Why is the library not open?

On Saturday and Sunday the library doesn't open until 10am and 11am. Waking up at 8am to get a head start on the day is almost uselses when the library isn't open. Its hard to find a quiet place to study without the library. You would think they would open earlier for people who have multiple finals to study for just a day away.

3. Why is the cafe not open?

Once the library finally opened, students faced a new issue. The cafe was closed. How was one to fuel their studies with caffeine and snack when the cafe is closed? When it did finally open, it was only open for a few hours which left TCU kids hungry and sleepy.

4. Is there a single student on campus that isn't currently in this library?

Once finals week actually begins the library turn into a mad house. Every table and computer seems to be taken. When it open in the morning it's like The Hunger Games to get a seat. Students are physically sprinting up the stairs to get their favorite spot.

5. Do these people notice when I keep taking laps past them?

When people walk around the library as a study break, mostly a last attempt on keeping their sanity, they wonder if people notice them walking laps in the dreaded building.

6. Can I Study outside? It's so nice out.

Of course, during finals week the weather is perfect. It's warm and sunny in Fort Worth and everyone wants to be enjoying the perfect weather. Students ponder studying outside and realize they won't be nearly as productive, but some take that risk anyway.

7. Is Roger Hub Final Calculator for real?!

Well. I'm obviously not going to get a 120% on the final, so I guess I should settle for the A-. Roger Hub final calculator is a magic tool to let student find out exactly what they need on the final. Also, a great way to seem the minimum amount of studying you need to put in for each final.

8. When will my professors put in my grades?

Checking TCU online 50 times a day is getting old. Students want their grade and they want them now. Constantly worrying about when grades will get put in is almost as dreadful is seeing the final grades themselves.

9. When is it acceptable to accept defeat?

On hour 11 and coffee 5 moral gets low. Students gaze out the window contemplating how much longer until they are reunited with their bed.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
