With all of the sad news, and all the drama going around, I feel it is necessary to share a list of songs that make me happy no matter what! Music is definitely something I enjoy listening to, and I enjoy a wide variety of it. So enjoy my happy playlist.

1. "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield

No matter who you are, you can't deny the lyrics to this song make your mood a little better. I remember when this song came out and I was always listening to it.

"I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine. I got a love, and I know that it's all mine."

2. "Smile" by Uncle Cracker

This is such a mellow song, and with such sweet lyrics.

"You make me smile like the sun. Fall out of bed, sing like a bird. Dizzy in my head, spin like a record. Crazy on a Sunday night."

3. "(What Doesn't Kill You) Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson

This song just really empowers me and makes me feel as if I can take on anything that is thrown my way!

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stand a little taller. Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone. What doesn't kill you makes a fighter, footsteps even lighter, doesn't mean I'm over cause you're gone."

4. "Roar" by Katy Perry

When this song came out it was like my anthem! I jammed out proudly to this, and it is another empowering song.

"You held me down, but I got up, already brushing off the dust. You hear my voice, your hear that sound, like thunder, gonna shake your ground. You held me down, but I got up. Get ready 'cause I've had enough."

5. "Pretty Girl Rock" by Keri Hilson

I was in middle school when this song came out, and I was always singing it on the bus or in the cafeteria. Just the lyrics makes me smile, because it gives me some self confidence.

"All eyes on me when I walk in, no question that this girl's a 10. Don't hate me 'cause I'm beautiful."

6. "Firework" by Katy Perry

Another Katy Perry song that makes me feel better about myself. I remember by older sister had dedicated this song to me, and this song instantly became my favorite. Especially since I was going through a hard time.

"'Cause baby you're a firework. Come on show 'em what your worth. Make 'em go oh, oh, oh. As you shoot across the sky."

7. "Dancing Queen" by ABBA

As soon as I turned 17 this instantly became my song. I was bored about being 17, but I remembered I was a dancing queen. The song is so upbeat, it is a favorite!

"You are the Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen. Dancing Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine."

8. "Jack & Diane" by John Mellencamp

This song was my anthem when I turned 16. I had definitely loved it before then, but I felt more connected to it somehow. It definitely deserves a spot on this list. It has a sweet meaning, and makes me smile when I hear it.

"Gonna let it rock, let it roll. Let the Bible Belt come, and save my soul. Hold on to sixteen as long as you can. Changes come around real soon, make us women and men."

9. "Gold Digger" by Kanye West

I know most people are rolling their eyes, but I saved the best for life. Nothing makes me more happy then when I am rapping along with Yeezy!

"She take my money when I'm in need, yea she's a trifling friend indeed. Oh she's a gold digger way over town, that digs on me."

So there it goes, a playlist I composed that will have you smiling in no time!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
