As Christmas approaches, relatives are going to start questioning you on what you want this year. Most little kids will ask for the newest toy or game while college students will usually ask for money. But no matter what age, the present you should really be asking for is a puppy. And here's why...

1. It's a puppy. Simple as that. There's nothing else anyone could ever want.

2. You have an automatic and eternal best friend. You are never lonely because this puppy will stick by your side always. You won't ever fight with your puppy, and your puppy can go with you everywhere. It will be the Ron Weasley to your Harry Potter. The Barnacle Boy to your Mermaid Man. The Brooke Davis to your Peyton Sawyer. Anyways you get the idea, it will be your sidekick one hundred percent of the time.

3. Just look at the face. How could anyone not want one?

4. You will instantly be more popular. Take your puppy anywhere, and everyone will want to come over to you and pet your puppy and maybe strike up a conversation with you. Take your puppy to a social event, and you will be the life of the party (well your puppy will be but that's basically you right?).

5. Puppies are known to reduce stress. So for all students from middle school to college, when you need a break from all the stress that your schoolwork has caused, no need to look any farther than that cute little puppy looking at you. Exams coming up, that's okay, because you can study with your pup right next you supporting you and helping you stay stress-free.

6. You will get more exercise. No need to make your New Years Resolution to work out more, because with a puppy, you won't need to. You will take your puppy on walks and runs or go to the park and play, and you will never have thought working out could be so much fun.

7. You will have someone to cuddle with. No need for a boyfriend or body pillow to cuddle with when you have your very own puppy. Your fluffy and warm puppy will be the perfect cuddling companion.

8. Your puppy will always be excited to see you. What better feeling than to have your puppy run at you with excitement and happiness after you return home from a long day. Your puppy's only purpose is to wait for you to come home and give you love.

9. IT IS A PUPPY!!!

Puppies make life so much more fun. So that is why everyone everywhere should ask for a puppy this upcoming Christmas. You will make the puppy's life better by providing a home, and the puppy will definitely make change yours for the better in more ways than you could ever hope for. So while you are making your Christmas List this year, make sure to put a puppy at the top.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
