1. You have been packed for at least two weeks already.

Or if you're like me, you had part of your stuff packed up since you came home for the summer.

2. You're looking forward to seeing your friends again.

And also to making new ones!

3. You miss the little things, like staying up late with your roommates or walking around campus.

A late night stroll always cleared my head when I was overwhelmed with everything (trust me, the feeling of being overwhelmed will hit you many times in college).

4. You are planning out how your dorm will be decorated

Every holiday and season comes with its own set of decor.

5. You have started buying your school supplies and books.

Cute planners, notebooks and pens for the win!

6. You have been counting down the days since late June.

Cabin fever hits around that time, usually.

7. You can't wait to see your favorite professors and faculty members.

They weren't just your professors, they were also your families, friends and support systems.

8. You miss hanging in the dining hall every day

The cafeteria-esque atmosphere is so lively and fun! Seeing all of my friends in one central location is the absolute best part of it all.

9. You can't wait to go to classes and learn about your favorite subjects again!

Yes, I am in fact, looking forward to studying, learning and becoming an expert in my field.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
