Chameleons: Better Pets Than Cats

I love cats, like I really, really, really love cats. Unfortunately, I am allergic so I have had to resort to the next best thing - a chameleon. Shortly after getting my my chameleon I realized that I had the best pet in the entire world.

1. Chameleons change colors based on their moods.

Unlike cats, where you are caught off guard by their picky moods, Chameleons let you know by the tint of their skin exactly how they are feeling.


2) Chameleons do not have hair.

You can cuddle with your favorite pet (carefully) without worrying about getting hair all over your super hot date night outfit. A bonus is that lizards are hypoallergenic pets.


3) You can carry your chameleon basically anywhere on your body.

Forget a parrot on your shoulder, or a big, fluffy cat in your arms, just plop that chameleon anywhere and let him go for a ride. They love heights so heads are the prime space for any adventurous chameleon.


4) They are permanently frowning.

Who needs a grumpy cat when you can have grumpy chameleon? Don’t worry, he’s not always unhappy.


5) They will do your online shopping.

Put them on your mouse or your keyboard and let them walk a round. They love the adventure, and you get new things.


6) You can force a chameleon to love you.

Unlike a cat, chameleons are small enough to where they cannot run away from you. Go ahead and force your friendship and love upon your chameleon, but make sure that you provide lots of worms and crickets, because like cats, a chameleon’s love is not free.


7) They do not make any noise.

Occasionally, they will let out a tiny, quiet hiss, but for the most part chameleons are silent animals. There are no 2 a.m. “I–want-to-go-out, I-want-to-go-in wake-up calls.”


8) Chameleons do not scratch up anything or chew on your favorite shirt.

Because they love chilling in their habitat, chameleons stay away from harming any of your items.


This is the absolute best pet and should be chosen over getting a pet cat any day! You and your chameleon will create such an incredible bond that cannot be made with a cat.
