1. We're a student run think tank and do tank.
That means we discuss different policy areas that range from economic development, public health, international relations, energy and environment, and so much more. We discuss up-to-date topics and what we could do about them. We also start and pursue our own grass-roots projects to make an actual difference!
2. We're also a drink tank.
We're in college. We don't have to be wonks all the time. Or you can, and you don't have to be sober, either.
3. Come for the policy, stay for the people.
We're a group that loves people! You'll surround yourself with people from all different backgrounds with all different interests, so it's very easy to find a home.
4. We love model UN.
It's basically adult pretend. With politics. It can be really serious, or it can get really weird.
5. But we also love making real change.
When we're done playing pretend, we can go out into the real world and make a difference. We take our ideas and put them into action!
6. We hate fighting across the aisle.
We're a nonpartisan organization, so everyone's opinions matter! In fact, it makes for a more well-rounded discussion with more strategies to solve problems.
7. No ideas are bad ideas.
We want to hear all your ideas for change! It doesn't matter if you have years of experience and knowledge on the subject or if you just heard about it today. We want you to come bring your ideas to the discussion on any topic and we'll help push you further, and you can help push us!
8. We want you to submit to 10 ideas!
This is where you can put your really, really good ideas out into the national spotlight! You can submit a policy idea to Roosevelt Institute's 10 Ideas under one of the policy areas. We'll introduce you to how to write policy if you have no experience (like most of us did when we were freshman!) and we'll help surround you with policy experts to help your ideas to keep coming!
9. We also love FDR.
I mean, this one's a no-brainer.
