When Snapchat and Instagram became popular, people began focusing on the few people that always, Always, ALWAYS, took pictures of their food before eating it. Believe me, I am guilty for doing this quite frequently, but I love savoring the moment before tasting the savory food. Sometimes people still don't understand the importance of sharing food without sharing your actual food. So here are some reasons I love sharing my food on the internet, but not in person.
1. Reviews For Previews
Yelp it. Snapchat it. Instagram it. Tweet it. Facebook share it. Anything honestly helps, and the fact that I might have all of these networks may mean I might be a little obsessive. However, the amount of people that have been able to try new foods because of my review have been the best feeling. I feel like I am sharing a piece of my world with the people that are always struggling to find something to eat.
2. Previews
The previews are always so mouth watering. The idea of trying to find something new to eat, but being lost and afraid of actually trying something new is a struggle. Previews help with the social anxiety of asking the waitress about the items on the menu, and you can learn about an item through a picture of the actual food.
3. Unknown Places Become Known
A first time can be a comfortable experience now. You can be in control of your experience and still enjoy the unfamiliarity of the new restaurant.
4. Trustworthy Previews
Friends and family are the ones' to go to when you need some good advice. And the best advice do come from the people that know you best, or just knows all of your allergies.
5. LOTS OF FOOD
The list of places you need to try have countlessly continued and continued and continued. And once you try the place, it is amazing and you want to go again, but you are stuck between going to a new place or staying and trying something new from the place you just went to.
6. Cravings
Cravings are helped by finding a new place that sells the same teriyaki that you enjoy from Tacoma, in Puyallup. So you can go to any place and share your cravings, and not be afraid of the new taste of a different owner.
7. Sharing is caring
Everyone hates sharing their fries, or their food, but sharing food through Instagram is helpful to show that you care about people and their necessity to try the new place you just went to. It develops a new bond of foodies.
8. Opinions Expressed
Expression through foods is so important. It values different cultural foods and helps people understand how some foods are actually made. This develops people in their day to day lives with the different foods they can try to eat in a single day.
9. It's Fun
Finding the perfect angle or the perfect shot right before someone takes a bite of the food is also the most challenging task to be assigned. But the best quality picture usually receives the credit when everyone in the group chat asks for the food pictures.
