When people find out that I am adopted, they always have the same questions to ask. Of course, they aren't adopted so they don't understand that they're asking the same questions everyone else is asking. In return, I try not to get annoyed and just answer them truthfully, so that maybe they will understand that it's not like the movies, most of the time. So if you have questions and you want to ask but are afraid that they have already been asked, here's some questions I think we can all relate to.
1. Do you know your biological parents?
I personally know my biological parents, in some cases others do not. I was adopted at an older age, where I understood what was going on and have full recollection of it.
2. Do you still talk to your family?

No, I do not talk to my family. Again in other cases, adopted children had an open adoption where talking to the family was a part of their adoption case. In my case, I chose not to talk to my birth family. They would only drag me down.
3. Why aren't you with your birth parents?

My birth parents were not capable of being parents. They did not do what a true parent should do. I was abused and neglected my entire life, which made my birth parents unfit to be a parent at all. But then again, it is really none of your business so asking someone why they're adopted is kind of rude.
4. Where are you from, I mean really from?

5. Why don't you look like your parents?

6. Why didn't your first parents want you?

They didn't not want me. They just weren't stable parents and it wasn't their choice to keep me. They had to give me up because they were only hurting me. Sometimes this question runs through my head too, though. I know that they were not good parents for me but on the other hand, why didn't they change to keep me?
7. Will you ever go back to your biological parents?

8. Are you sure you're adopted, you look like your dad?

9. Do you ever get tired answering questions about your adoption?

Yes, the questions get old. But, I know that people are curious and that's okay.
