9 Killer Ways To Embrace Fall Like A Champ

In case you didn't know, autumn is your new favorite month.

9 Killer Ways To Embrace Fall Like A Champ

1) Go on a hike.

This is a pretty basic way to intertwine yourself with nature, but nonetheless, it's a fun and healthy way to kickstart your autumn.

2) Step on every crunchy leaf.

Make it a game, and take special care to listen as they snap, crackle, and pop. Give Rice Krispies a run for their money the natural way.

3) Drink tea. All the tea.

Take a moment to stroll down the tea aisle of your local supermarket, and peruse through the various flavors. Say them out loud in silly voices, admire the cover art, and pick an exotic one to taste test at home. Preferably in a large cozy mug. Tea just tastes better when you hold it in two hands.

4) Learn how to knit.

Or crochet! Or some other warm, snuggly craft. It doesn't really matter, just make something, be it a scarf, hat, whatever, then wear it. Proudly.

5) Remember that pumpkin spice isn't everything.

I will admit that it is a lot of things, but not everything. Explore other flavors of fall: maple, apples, pears, sweet potatoes, the list goes on. Gotta catch em' all.

6) Make this your best semester yet.

If you're like me, and basically every other student ever, you promise yourself on the first day of classes that this is your year, the one you turn things around and earn the highest grades you've ever gotten. Do yourself a favor, and do it. Push yourself, and kick major butt this semester.

7) Go to a sports game.

Or do sports things. Even if you have no idea what is going on or how to play, I'll guarantee that you'll have an awesome time cheering for the wrong team or tackling your brother in the backyard.

8) Hug everyone.

This might not be entirely relevant to the season, but it's a rule of thumb that applies year round, so I figured I'd throw that out there.

9) Top it all off with a hat.

Beanie season is upon us people, embrace it, love it, live it.

Happy Fall everyone!!! Dance the crisp aired, rainbow leaved days away, pumpkin head style.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
