9 GIFs That Provide Motion For The Emotional Struggle Of Commuter Life

The college struggle is way too real for commuters- overpriced gas, heavy book-bags and all.

Commuting in college is a totally different ballgame than dorming.

It can be convenient and fun at times, but at others, it's a real hassle. If you're a commuter like me and want to relate to this kind of spiritual level, these gifs will definitely unite all commuters in similar experiences.

1. Developing minor road rage

Even if you aren't the angriest person, you will develop some sort of frustration if you commute to school. From 30 minute drives to hours stuck on the highway, you'll definitely groan or yell behind the wheel at someone.

2. Unknowingly learning how to critique other drivers

Now that you're driving almost every day for a significant amount of time, you're going to believe yourself as the most experienced and know-it-all when it comes to driving. You'll be making this face a whole lot if someone doesn't use the appropriate blinker or drives too slow.

3. Having to carry around a heavy bag

If you have a long day ahead of you at school, you have no choice but to take all your books you need plus snacks and all the other necessities. Walking around campus surely becomes tiresome at points- especially if your campus is on a hill like mine. (And yes, this also goes for the bags under your eyes.)

4. "So-easy-it-gets-hard" food decisions

As a commuter you have to think in advance if you're going to meal prep, buy food on campus or even go through a drive-thru to eat according to your schedule; and there's always money to consider. Decisions, decisions, am I right?

5. Waking up earlier than you should have to

College kids always complain about waking up early for class- but commuters have to wake up even earlier for travel time! Give us some extra credit in class for this one at least.

6. Trying to make friends

When I started college I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to make friends because I commute. This obviously isn't the case and is totally doable, but it can be super intimidating to be the person who can't relate to the experiences everyone else is having. On the other hand, thank goodness other people commute, too!

7. Needing more money (you don't have) for gas

As college students, we are already broke, but I think it's safe to say we're extra broke because of gas. Curse you, overpriced car fuel!

8. The war for parking

This also goes with #5 if your commuter lots are a first-come first-serve basis. Especially if there is a specific lot on campus that all the commuters go to, you have to strategically make a game plan in order to get that good spot. Let the parking games begin!

9. The reality of adulting

Okay, being a commuter isn't so bad- you're getting the education you deserve without the added cost of room and board you'd be paying off for years to come. But what really stinks is that you're taking a glimpse into what adulting really is like- and that part is scarier and harder to face than anything on this list.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
