86 Thoughts While Doing Homework In Your First Apartment

Making the transition from dorm life or greek house life to actual, college adult(ish) apartment life can be frustrating, exciting, and hilarious all at the same time. Sometimes, you even find yourself sitting there pondering your new, quasi-independent life, especially when you should be doing homework or 927 other things. Here are some thoughts I have while doing homework in my first apartment:

  1. I should’ve printed this study guide at the library
  2. Wow, this couch was a good purchase
  3. So comfy
  4. It’s cold in here
  5. I should go grab a blanket
  6. And fuzzy socks
  7. What is that smell?
  8. I should light a candle, that'll help
  9. Where is the lighter?
  10. Do we have a lighter?
  11. Probably not
  12. But we do have Oreos
  13. I wonder if we have milk
  14. Oops, it expired 3 days ago, let’s throw that out
  15. What should I make for dinner?
  16. Ugh, but I’m tired I don’t wanna cook
  17. I’ll order pizza
  18. But I’m broke
  19. Maybe roomies want pizza too
  20. It’s already 8 PM, I don’t wanna wait for pizza
  21. Wait what’s my address?
  22. Yes I would like a side of ranch and marinara
  23. Yes, both
  24. Is that even a question?
  25. I can’t wait a whole hour
  26. I’m so tired
  27. The washing machine put a hole in my socks
  28. This little piggy is cold
  29. And this little piggy needs to go to Target
  30. But now I'm even more broke because I bought pizza
  31. But I still need groceries
  32. I can’t not eat
  33. We need a rug, this carpet sucks
  34. How much are rugs?
  35. Do those fit in a care package?
  36. I wish mom still sent care packages
  37. We’re out of toilet paper
  38. I bought it last time I’m not buying it again
  39. Oh crap, it’s the first of the month
  40. I think my rent is due
  41. Bye money, I will miss you
  42. I wonder when the electric bill is due
  43. Oh well, lights are still on, it’s not due today
  44. I have candles, it’ll be fine
  45. We should decorate more
  46. We need more canvases
  47. I’ll find quotes on Pinterest
  48. Wait, what colored paint do I have
  49. Whatever, nothing matches in this place anyway
  50. I wish we had a balcony
  51. It’s so pretty outside
  52. Why am I not outside?
  53. I should study outside
  54. And do laundry, I definitely need to do laundry
  55. Do I have clean underwear?
  56. I wonder what I’m gonna wear this weekend
  57. I hope we don’t pregame here
  58. I just vacuumed
  59. But why is there still glitter on the floor?
  60. Oh right, Big Little reveal was last week
  61. I want to craft
  62. Wait, where’s the lighter?
  63. Maybe roomie knows where it is
  64. When’s roomie coming home?
  65. I’m lonely
  66. I wish my neighbors were nicer
  67. One of them is kinda cute though
  68. He looks like he goes to the gym
  69. Ugh, I need to go to the gym
  70. Maybe next semester
  71. The sophomore 60 isn’t real right?
  72. Wow I’m a sophomore
  73. That’s scary
  74. What am I doing with my life?
  75. I should meet with my advisor
  76. Maybe she knows what I’m doing with my life
  77. Where the heck are my roommates?
  78. Did they go out without me?
  79. Where is that smell coming from?
  80. The trash definitely needs to be taken out
  81. Nose goes
  82. Is the pizza here yet?
  83. I wonder if I can tip in quarters
  84. But then I can’t do laundry
  85. I should have wine with my pizza
  86. Wait, do we have a corkscrew?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
