Friendships are the key to getting through life. Different friends fulfill different friendship needs for everyone. We should accept each friendship for what they do give us rather than focusing on where they fall short. We should appreciate the unique relationship we share with each person and the positive influence it has on our lives. Here are a few different types of friends I've found so far:
The friend that was meant to be a sister
She's the one you share the constant love/hate relationship with--pretend hate, of course, because there's no such thing. She's the one who will always love you no matter what so it doesn't matter that you constantly yell insults back and forth. There is no such thing as boundaries with this friend because you're both insanely way too open with each other.
The friend that's too sweet for her own good
She's typically the cute, smart, bubbly friend that everyone secretly envies for being literally perfect. She's the friend that you could take any problem to and she'd listen with open ears while offering the best advice and sympathy. She's a loyal friend and you always know you can truly count on her to be there.
The adventurous/fun loving friend
This is the friend that will never allow an awkward moment of silence. She typically has the most random friends because her loving personality allows for her to make friends with anyone. When you're with this friend, chances are you spend most of your time laughing at each other's quirkiness. She inspires you to be yourself and make the most of life.
The friend that's always been there
The person you find yourself thinking about a lot because of how much life has interfered with your friendship. You could sometimes go weeks or even months without seeing this friend, but then pick up right where you left off. This person has been there for you through most of your life so naturally they know you like the back of their hand. At then end of the day, you'll always find your way back to each other.
The friend that's easygoing
All those crazy videos and weird selfies held in your photos are probably with this person. You never really make set plans with them because you both just play everything by ear. She has truly taught you that the best nights are the unplanned Friday's when you stay up until 5 AM playing jenga or take a birthday cake from a random stranger in an alley. Sometimes you're both a little too optimistic, but you wouldn't have it any other way.
The friend that's a copy of you
This person shares the same taste in clothes, boys, music, etc. When you tell her something, you don't have to explain yourself because she knows exactly what you mean. She always knows what your thinking before you even say it. This person will always most likely be the best wingman as well, speaking from my experience.
The guy friend
The typical guy friend that every girl has, or should have. He's the perfect escape from the petty girl drama when you need it. He'll be there to talk you through the jerks and forewarn you..then still feel slightly bad when you ignore his advice and end up upset.
The friend that's your soul mate
When you met this person, it was an instant connection. They're the person you completely trust and that's how you know they're not just your friend - they're your soul mate. They're a part of you and you probably realize that life would be so boring and dull without them. Chances are you've referred to this person as your "ride or die" a few times due to the simple fact that they're always down for whatever. This person is your future maid of honor and will be the best "auntie" to your children some day. They just get you in every aspect of life and have formed a bond that will never be broken.
