Sometimes you simply need a reality check.

You know that fake Louis-Vuitton purse and your sparkly pink UGGS from seventh grade? Or that last shot of tequila at the bar? A lot of the time things that seemed like a great idea at the time end up being poor life choices in the end. But hey, hindsight is 20/20. 

The way we think about and view ourselves can often be completely different from reality - from the things we wear to the way we drink. Here are eight reality checks for you in case your friends haven't had the courage to let you know already. 

1. Wearing red lipstick
You put it on thinking you are some kind of sophisticated broad, but in reality you look like the captain of your high school's dance team.

The verdict is in and I am the world's worst dancer. For a long time I thought I was really killing the game until my friends made it painfully clear that my dancing was to only be done in my room, alone.

3. Taking a shot
Something this painful should at least look cool while you are enduring it but nope. You don't actually look that cool.

4. Making out with your significant other in public
Don't do this. I know you feel pretty adorable, but you are not. First of all, it makes us single people really agitated. You're in a relationship, we get it. Second, your morals look a little questionable. No explanation needed.

You are over there feeling thin and fabulous but in reality you're looking a little bit like a damp animal on the verge of death.

If you have graduated eighth grade, please FOR THE LOVE OF GOD stop wearing the basic girl uniform. At the very least lose the UGGS. I know they make your feet feel like they're enveloped in a Tempur Pedic pillow, but please.

They were a cool idea in Summer 2011, but when done wrong they are done really wrong. It's an easy go-to when you are on the go but proceed with caution.
