I'm sure every school has a night during the week where everyone heads out to the bars with all their friends. Mug night, muggin', bar hoppin'... what it may be. It's Wednesday and people are starting to get ready to go out for the night. You pick out what to wear, find out who all is going out and decide which pregame to go to.
Oh, and there is always that one person who sits and debates on whether or not they should go out while their friends are getting ready (this is usually me). Wednesday's never fail to show you a good time. The $3 cover is totally worth it after a night filled with laughs, possibly some cries and non stop dance moves with your friends.
1. Oh no, I have to pee.
The line for the girls bathroom is extremely long. I knew I should've gone before we left. Why does everyone have to pee all at once? Have bars ever thought of maybe having more than one bathroom. Oh gosh, should I wait it out? No. I can't leave line now. There's no line for the boys bathroom...no no no. Just stay in line.
2. I hope I don't have anything due tomorrow...
Test on Friday, should I go out this Wednesday? Or do I stay in and study? If you decide to go out and you have a quiz the next day, you are going to be thinking about that quiz all night long. At least I know that would be me. Or if you are wild, you go out every night and if you have something due the next day that gives you even more of a reason to go out and let loose. Sometimes you have to evaluate your priorities, but sometimes the first priority is mug night...that's okay.
3. "Hey want to dance?"
Random boy asks you to dance... How do you decline in a nice way? Do I just say yes to be nice? Maybe I just walk away and act like I didn't hear him. Do boys have this problem? What do they think about before asking a girl to dance? They are boys, they don't think before doing things right? Wait... do boys evaluate girls like girls do to them?
4. To go up to the bar and look for popcorn? Or would people judge me?
Am I the only one who thinks about the popcorn before going out. I can't be. Who doesn't love some popcorn before dancing all night long. Don't forget the gum ladies and gents. Wink wink. Always go for the popcorn, it's free. College kids love free things.
5. My feet are killing me! Why did I wear these wedges?
Ladies... If you can't walk in the shoes, then you cannot dance in them. So don't wear them. Simple as that. Plus, they will most likely get stepped on and broken or ruined by other people's shoes. Save them for a different night. Wear some comfy shoes that won't break your toes. Guys... do not wear your favorite shoes to mug night! Why is it every time I go out there is a guy who is mad because his brand new shoes just got a drink spilled on them or got stepped on.
6. Where are my friends? I lost them.
If you can go to mug night and not lose your friends at least once, then I would say that you are a pro. I spend more time looking for my friends then actually spend time with them there. You get so mad because you can't find them anywhere. Somehow at the end of the night, I end up finding them and we all have different stories to share so I guess it's okay! If you stop looking for them, they will pop up.
7. If I can get back home in the next 30 minutes, I think I'll still have time to get pizza delivered.
Worst and best decision ever. Pizza is just better late at night, because that's the first thing everyone does when they leave for the night. Domino's, Pizza Hut and Papa John's' busiest hours are when the bars close.
8. The morning after Snapchat story.
When you wake up from a night out, you check your snap story. Never really know what to expect. Sometimes there are none, so it seems to be you had so much fun you actually forgot to take a Snapchat about it. Or ya know, your phone died halfway through the night.
But other times its filled with just about anything you could take a picture or video of. Then you're stuck with the choice of keeping it or deleting it. Here is my advice, if it has already been viewed by 1/2 of your Snapchat friends then it's too late to delete it my friend.
The thoughts that go through your head while you are out for the night could go on forever. And could vary from very many subjects. Everyone has the nights that they need to go out, and I think we can all agree that some people we see out probably should've stayed in
If you haven't had a chance to go out on a Wednesday or Thursday or any day of the week, give it a shot. It really isn't for everyone but you don't know until you try. Go out and have fun, but not too much fun. Of course, be responsible and blah blah blah. Be young while you can. And make sure you plan a nap for the next day.
