8 Things That Happen When Driving Long Distance

Don't lie, this happens to everyone

Since i've been in college I have experienced a whole new level of driving, most of the time it is because I live quite a distance and it's an interesting drive (I live in New Jersey). Many people experience this because they're visiting a friend, going on vacation, or just driving for fun (I do not know why anyone would want to do that). Here are a few steps to the long-driving process that I know for a fact we all experience at one point in our lifetime.

1. The Excitement

Wooooohooooo, you're finally on the road heading towards something you've been looking forward to or dreading either way, the day is here! You hop into the car and now you cannot wait to just throw on your favorite beats and jam out the whole damn ride.

2. The Sing/Dance-Off With Yourself

Welcome to my own personal concert-it's free! I cannot even begin to tell you the amount of times i have looked to my left and someone is just completely laughing at me. Let me live, man.

Not that i care, I am going to continue to dance and jam out to make this 4 hour drive a lot less boring.

3. The Stare-Down

Yeah, I'm looking at you. Probably wondering where you're heading, judging you and wondering what kind of personality you have. I wonder what kind of music you're listening to and sometimes even think about what kind of job you might have. Yeah, I am weird but what else would you like me to do?

4. The Multi-tasking Eating/Driving Technique

Not recommended, but totally worth it. I can not be the only person who gets pissed when driving gets in the way of my eating. So rude. Here I am trying to enjoy my burrito and I have to make a left turn, jesus take the wheel (or hold my burrito).

5. The Road Rage

Haha, did you just cut me off? How dare you. When I am driving I become the hulk, I am invincible: here is my middle finger you a-hole.

6. The Antsy-ness

So close, yet so far-I can do it only an hour left. I just have to push my way through this traffic and the rest of the trip will breeze by. Gotta do a little adjusting, my back is killing me and my feet may or may not fall off, not sure.

7. The Final Stretch

OMG, I am so tired. 15 minutes left. 15. I CAN'T do it anymore. I have been looking at the same damn road for the last 4 hours and nothing has changed. Someone help.

8. The Arrival

Thank the lord, I made it!! I can not believe it, I thought I was going to be driving into my next birthday. What shall I do first? Sleep? Yup, that sounds good to me.

8a. The Almost Peeing Yourself Arrival

omg omg omg, I seriously can not hold it, out of my way! I now regret drinking that dunkin' iced coffee- all it did for me was make me dread the last hour of my ride! Sure, i could have stopped, but that is just wasting time that I can't afford to waste.

Driving is driving, whether you're from America, Europe or another planet, it's the same and let me tell you.... it sucks.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
