Migrating from New York to South Carolina, you can see how different the style of life really is. Being from the North, there is a mentality that southerners are inferior however in the South, there is a similar mentality only vice versa. Having spent two important portions of my life in both the North and the South, I can honestly say that there isn't really a "better" or superior one. However, there are most definitely a couple things I am glad are behind me due to the move.

1. The Attitude

Northerners have this distinct attitude that somehow gives them the audacity to believe they are all gods.

2. The smell

Maybe it was just New York, but man, all you smelt was a mixture of urine and rust. The city was a beautiful place, but the smell was overpowering and unbearable.

3. The Snow

Not only did it annually get so cold that you literally have to thaw your limbs, but it snowed so much that you could have to spend an entire day just to dig through to get to your car. Yet, schools and jobs would still remain open.

4. The Laws

I don't want to dive to deep on this because of political stand points, but in short terms, my political beliefs and preferred restrictions did not align with the majority of Northern states.

5. The Quick Summer

Don't blink...you'll miss it. Within a matter of 3 months, the prime and ideal weather is gone. Down in the South, weather from 80 degrees and up lasts longer then you can imagine.

6. The Costs

It is hard enough trying to start a life for myself in the current day, but now pile on 1200 dollar monthly rent bills and sky high car insurance and your practically asking people to leave.

7. The Traffic

The daily commute to the city during peak hours can cause hell to freeze over. Traffic not only effects the commuters but everyone else who is just trying to get along through their day.

8. The Corrosion

Believe it or not, but things last a lot longer down in the South mainly because of the lack of salt. Without the deposit of salts on the streets, cars are in much better condition and it makes it easier to sell it when the time comes.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
