ICYMI, LA Tan's #1 customer Donald Trump declared that April was National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention month. This is a tradition of the White House, and he personally declared that "women, children, and men have inherent dignity that should never be violated."
Pause, and let the horrible hilarity sink in for a moment. Let me remind everyone that twelve women have come forward and said that they've been sexually assaulted by Trump. He also gained a lot of media attention last year for his now infamous "grab her by the pussy" soundbite. The sheer irony that he's now advocating for our "inherent dignity" would be hysterical if it wasn't so absolutely infuriating. Where was our dignity when you called women fat, ugly, pigs, and made any of these statements?
I'm trying to find some humor in the situation (because I'm still waiting for the punchline on this joke), so here are 8 things that are more ironic that Trumpkin's advocacy for Sexual Assault Awareness.
1. Charlie Chaplain once lost a Charlie Chaplin lookalike contest
2. This sign
3. No one knows who invented the fire hydrant because the building holding the permit burned down
4. This dog
5. St. Patrick is actually Welsh
6. Voldemort's obsession with killing Harry Potter is what caused him to die
7. Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" has no real example of irony
8. Donald Trump is President
I still can't even type that with a straight face.
Okay, humor can't even fix this situation because WHY??? Yes, I realize it's great that he's advocating for sexual assault awareness. However, what people need to realize this is basically like Bill Nye the Science Guy telling everyone that science is all witchcraft. It's painfully ironic, embarrassing, and insulting to anyone that's been sexually assaulted.
Frankly, the only thing Donald Trump is bringing awareness to is the fact that powerful rich white men get to walk around like they rule the world and are entitled to whatever and whoever they want.
Maybe this is a "step in a right direction" to show that he's "changing", but I'll believe it when policies get put out that actually protect the people in this country.
