As the year comes to a close, I start to get excited to go home for the summer and see my friends and family, go to the beach, and just be able to not deal with school work. Realistically, by the end of the first week of being home, I will want to be back at school. There are a ton of things that I will miss over the summer, particularly at Marist. Here are just a few.
1. Being with friends constantly.
Living with my friends is, honestly, one of the best things that I have experienced in college. It is so fun to be able to sit in the living room and watch a movie together, eat dinner together, or just have late night talks when we really should be doing homework. There is no one to tell you what to do and when to do it, and that's pretty awesome.
2. Late night food sessions.
Late night talks means late night snacks, right? Whether it's devouring an entire bag of Tostitos with salsa or getting something delivered, late night snacking is always a good time.
3. Being able to walk everywhere.
After a while, driving really sucks. While it is nice to have a car at school to be able to get groceries, driving to your friend's house that is 35 minutes away every day gets really tiring.
4. Going out every weekend.
Although, sometimes I complain that my liver is really struggling, going out is always a fun adventure with friends. There is nothing like going to River Station on a Thursday when you have just had enough with school by the end of the week.
5. The beautiful views.
I love walking to class when it is a nice day and seeing the river and the beautiful green grass on campus (I still wonder how it's so green).
6. Having a gym buddy.
7. Having a roommate.
While some people would rather have a single (especially after the first two years of college), having a roommate is so fun. They are always there to talk to about anything.
8. Always having fun.
If I'm having a crappy week, I can always count on my friends to be there and make me have fun. There is always something to do on campus, and you're never bored.
Sophomore year has been my best year ,so far, and I can't believe it's already over. Thank you to my homies for being the best friends I could ever ask for. Peace out ,sophomore year -- you've been too good to me.
