8 Things I Miss About Del Val
Madeline O'Donohue
  1. Having easy access to almost EVERYTHING!: Need to go to the gym? No problem its just a 2 minute walk. Hungry? Just walk over to the café, it’s open 24/7! Just woke up and only 5 minutes to get to class? Pshhh, grab your back pack and head out, its only a 5 minute walk anyway.
  2. Always having something to do: Whether it was going out for sushi, movie night in the café, or just hanging out in the dorm with some friends, there was no shortage of things to do.
  3. Seeing everyone: Even if we didn’t talk very much there is a huge chance that I miss you. I miss being able to hang out with anyone at any time. Just one of the perks of a small school.
  4. Sports: There’s really no explanation for this. I miss watching my friends play, I miss playing, I miss hearing about the B.S. call the ref made in the trainers office. I just miss everything about it.
  5. Being able to go out when I wanted, come back when I wanted, and do things without having to explain them to my parents: Sorry Mom and Dad, I love you guys for caring so much, but the freedom is awesome.
  6. Having access to teachers and staff offices: I know this doesn’t seem crazy important, but if you’re taking an online class, or trying to change your major by email, you feel the pain of not being able to see them in person.
  7. The library: Yeah I know, “Who misses the Library?” ME! And a couple other people I know, so it’s not crazy! It was a nice place to sit quietly and study, or just sit and read. And also, on the “non-quiet side” you could sit and talk with friends and have a coffee
  8. Being able at any time to go down to Lake Archer, or the farms, or just take a walk on our beautiful campus: The gardens on campus are a nice peaceful place to sit and think and de-stress

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
