1. Art Class
Art class was time for more than simply making art. It was time to listen to music and chat with your friends, all while having the chance to express yourself. Oh, and the best part, you were too young for them to tell you that you were doing it wrong.
2. Student Teachers
Student teachers always were the perfect age. Seeming so old to the students, and so young compared to the teacher. They always brought fun activities, and for many, a new role model.
3. Show and Tell
Show and tell was great, it allowed you to share your favorite thing, whether that be a stuffed animal or photo, a story or a book. It was more than just a break from math or reading, it was a chance to learn something more. Something that gave us a glimpse, even at a young age, into who our classmates truly were.
4. Scholastic Book Fair
It was always a good day when the book fair was in town. It was fun to browse, and even more fun to walk out with a brand new book.
5. Valentine's Day and Thanksgiving Parties
Valentine's Day and Thanksgiving always seemed to be the two holiday's no one got in trouble for celebrating, allowing parents and teachers to bring in lots and lots of food, and what's better than that?
6. Reading Buddies
Everyone seemed to have one, and if you didn't, you were jealous of the classes that did. Not only did you get to read, but you also were able to have an older friend to wave hi to on your way inside from recess, and someone who you were able to know for years to come.
7. Parachute Days in Gym Class
Ya know the big, multi-colored parachute that only appeared a few times a year?! That was the best part of gym class.
8. Recess.
Enough said.
