8 Signs You're From Roswell, Georgia

Roswell, Georgia is a large city with a small town feel. Just on the outskirts of Atlanta, we are just close enough to be able to get to Atlanta when needed, but far off to avoid the large city feel. Roswell is home to over 90,000 people and while this is a large population, the numerous parks and small town areas makes us feel smaller than we actually are. Here are eight key signs you’re from Roswell, Georgia.

1. Nobody knows the border between Alpharetta, Roswell, and Johns Creek.

At this point, just pick one when filling out your address and zip code. They’re all close enough together to be the same thing. When people ask where you’re from, most people just find it easier to say Atlanta.

2. We’re just close enough to Atlanta to get the rush hour traffic.

Rush hour for Friday usually starts Thursday afternoon. Just be prepared to use your defensive driving and leave for appointments with plenty of time to spare.

3. You live in one of the safest cities in the United States.

Where there is one cop, the second is close behind. They always travel in pairs which makes it one of the safest places to live.

4. Everybody knows and loves Old Roswell.

Much like Downtown Dahlonega, Old Roswell has the old small town feel with shops and restaurants all in walking distance. It’s perfect to walk around on a Saturday afternoon. Plus, when it's prom season, you will always see someone in a prom dress because it is the perfect photo place.

5. Everybody takes photos at the Roswell Mill.

Whether its prom pictures, senior portraits, engagement photos or just anything, this is the place to be. Everybody knows the signature covered bridge with the Chattahoochee River going underneath it. It’s an icon of Roswell.

6. There are parks everywhere!

Whenever people leave the city of Roswell, they always talk about how they missed the parks.

7. And there are also sidewalks everywhere!

The city of Roswell is working to make sidewalks on every road to encourage biking and walking. By doing this, they are also creating beautiful landscaped areas making Roswell beautiful.

8. There are always events going on in the Roswell Square.

From arts festivals and music festivals to local fairs, there is always something going on in the square to keep you busy on the weekends.

The city of Roswell is very unique considering how close we are to the city of Atlanta. While we can feel like a large city, if you get to the older areas of Roswell, you can get the small town feel. There are so many iconic areas that most of the locals don’t even realize are iconic until they leave. From the parks to the people walking in the square, Roswell creates the small town feel in the middle of a large city, making it a very unique place in Georgia.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
