In the recent years, binge watching TV shows has become a regular past time for many people. With Netflix being as popular as it is, binge watching shows is easier than ever, and many people take advantage of that during the summer months. So here is a list of some of the best, most binge-worthy shows to spend your summer watching.
1. Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl centers around a group of young adults, living in Manhattan, who are spoiled and rich with problems none of us could ever relate to. With a star studded cast (including Blake Lively and Leighton Meester), all of whom are too attractive to be real, but the show is so addicting, I have personally watched it through four times.
Seasons: 6 (2007-2012)
Available on Netflix
2. Friends
Almost everybody has heard of Friends, but not everybody understands the references. The show, centered around 6 mid twenties adults living in New York in nice apartments and figuring out life and relationships. The premise sounds overly simple but the different things that these friends face will put your heart into knots and make you cry. This show made Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, and all of the stars as big as they are today. I have watched this show through three times.
Seasons: 10 (1994-2004)
Available on Netflix
3. Orange Is The New Black
Orange Is The New Black is a Netflix Original that is centered around an all womens prison in Litchfield. The show perfectly combines the inmates back stories with the inmates current situations. With many lesbian relationships and nude scenes, the show is very adult, but its totally worth the binge watching.
Seasons: 4, with a 5th season premiering June 9. (2013-present)
Available only on Netflix
4. New Girl
New Girl is centered around a girl, named Jess, who upon finding out her long time boyfriend has been cheating on her, moves into an apartment with three guys, all of whom are goofy and trouble makers in their own right, while Jess tries to keep them out of trouble. I have watched this show through twice.
Seasons: 6, with a 7th on the way (2011-present)
Available on Netflix, FOXNow, and Hulu
5. The Office
The Office centers around a small paper company located in Scranton, Pennsylvania, that was chosen to be followed around for about ten years for a documentary about the modern office. The camera men for the documentary captures all of the interactions between all of the employees and bosses, including romantic relationships and friendships, as well as the misguided actions of some of the crazy managers such as Michael Scott, played by Steve Carrell.
Seasons: 9 (2005-2013)
Available on Netflix
6. How I Met Your Mother
How I Met Your Mother is centered around Ted Mosbey, on his search for his soulmate, and the show is narrated by Ted, as an older man, telling his kids the story of how he met their mother. The show tells of Ted's misadventures with his four best friends (and his failed relationships) on his journey to find his soulmate. I have watched this show through three times.
Seasons: 9 (2005-2014)
Available on Netflix
7. Grey's Anatomy
Grey's Anatomy is centered around a surgical intern, Meredith Grey (who later becomes resident and attending) who begins interning at Seattle Grace Hospital. The show is an emotional roller coaster that will leave you in desperate need of some ice cream. Thats all the discription I can give for now, because the twists and turns of this show are too much. Me and my mom just finished season 12 on Netflix, and are attempting to find a way to watch season 13.
Seasons: 13, and has been renewed for season 14 (2005-present)
Seasons 1-12 available on Netflix, season 13 available on Hulu, Amazon Prime (for purchase), and most cable providers OnDemand (for purchase)
8. Lost
Lost centers around a group of people who survived a plane crash. The plane crashed onto a mysterious island in the middle of nowhere, and the survivors must find a way to survive on the island while awaiting rescue. Little do they know, the island holds way more secrets than they would have ever known.
Seasons: 6 (2004-2010)
Available on Netflix
Summer is always a great time to relax, and of course catch up on some shows. Enjoy!
