At the beginning of each semester, we all set goals that make this semester better than the last. Goals that will help us get the grades that will make our parents proud.
But it is now week 4, and those goals are long passed failed.
1. I will not be late to class.
The one that gets everyone. I vow I will wake up early enough to make it to class on time and I will continue this streak for the rest of the semester. I failed on day three.
2. I will go to bed early.
In order to achieve goal #1 of not being late to class, I must go to bed early so that I can wake up early. Five episodes of "Shameless" later and it's 4 a.m. ... oops.
3. I will do all of my homework ahead of time.
This semester, I will do my work the day I get it. I will keep ahead of my assignments and turn them in on time, if not AHEAD of time.
"You did not receive credit for assignment 1."
...oh...I forgot to do that.
4. I will not let my friends distract me.
I'm sorry, but have you met my friends? They're pretty much awesome, and who wouldn't pass on hours of homework to hang out with them? That assignment I didn't get done -- yeah, blame them.
5. I will get all A's.
This semester, I will work harder than I have in the past. I will push myself to achieve more than I did all years before and I will show what I'm made of.
Week 3 -- "C's get degrees, right?"
6. I will not have to pull all-nighters.
By getting all of my homework done ahead of time, I will be able to go to bed early and never have to spend the last minute writing papers or finishing assignments.
Well, we've seen that the homework ahead of time and going to bed early failed...so this one follows in their footsteps.
7. I will spend time studying in the library.
Wait...we have a library?
8. I will go to the gym.
I get a free gym membership for being a student, so I will take advantage of that.
Ooooooor I could just take a nap. Yeah, I'm going to take a nap.
It happens to everyone. We set our goals to make this semester the best one yet! It's great in theory, but awful in application.
