Playground Time Yes, you read that correctly. Your favorite park that you have grown out of has now turned into your office. You actually get paid to play tag, swing on swings, climb to the top of the tallest castle, and play infection (ask any 10 year old or younger, it's the best game ever.)
Training

I know, I know… that sounds awful, however it is actually really beneficial. During training you will become first aid and CPR certified and some camps may even train you to be a lifeguard. Plus, training is paid so instead of paying to get those certifications you are actually GETTING PAID to be certified.

You learn how to handle a wide variety of personalities and tastes… really quickly.

Working at a kids camp puts in you a pretty unique situation. You will work with a variety of ages, backgrounds, traits, and preferences. You want to try to figure out what would make the majority happy… all with in the matter of minutes. This makes you well prepared for the future and being thrown in to quick, problem-solving situations.

You are a role model.

How cool is that? Someone looks up to you in the best way. They want to be you one day. They try to mimic what you do, how you speak to the other kids, and how you handle situations. This is a huge positive, as long as you keep in mind that you are always being watched and looked up to.

You can find your voice.

You learn how to public speak in a variety of situations, maybe even better than what your speech class was able to teach you. You learn how to answer questions appropriately, adapt to your “audience,” and how to put sentences together in a way that makes everyone excited and ready to hear what you have to say.

You gain valuable leadership skills.

You will most likely have a group of kids that you will be in charge of. You have to be able to motivate them in such a way that makes them happy and excited, while still following all rules given to you. This will also look great on resumés and set you apart to future employers.

Field Trips
You get to travel to all the fun places within your city. You will learn how to roller-skate backwards and with six kids hanging on you. You will be able to bowl a perfect 300 and will be a children’s movie extraordinaire. You most likely will not notice, but you will be grinning from ear to ear realizing that your campers are having the best time, and you are too.

You build incredible relationships.
You will grow to love every single one of your campers and want to keep up with them. Not only will you have a great friendship with the kids, you will also work with some of the funniest, loving, and most hard-working people that you may have never have met otherwise. These people will become your fast friends and will keep you sane during one of the best and busiest summers of your life!
