When it comes to country music I can honestly say it is very easy for me to relate too. Country music has so many songs about so many things. You have songs about love, songs about loss, and songs about having fun. Also, country music is easy to relate to because it feels like the artist of the song actually understands where you are coming from. The following are eight reasons why I love country music.
1. Country Love Songs Are the Perfect Love
When I listen to a country love song the first thing that pops into my mind is how I want a love like that. Country love songs hit the definition of love on the nose. If you listen to the words of the song Bless the Broke Road by Rascal Flatts you should instantly feel a warm feeling and a loving sensation. The song talks about how happy the person is to have met the person they are with. How every problem that they had was fixed when God lead them to each other. I don't know about you but that is a feeling I love. I love feeling like something was meant to be and that is what most county love songs portray.
2. All Songs Are Heartfelt
When you listen to a county song all the feelings in that song come alive. I can relate to country music because the emotions of the song are easy to portray. No matter what mood I am in I can always find a country song that matches that emotion that I am feeling. If I am sad You Promised by Brantley Gilbert is what is on. If I am happy 80's Mercedes is playing by Marron Morris. There is always a country song for every emotion to touch the heart.
3. No Topic is Off Limits
There are no filters when it comes to a country song. You have your mushy gooshy love songs or you have your buck wild country rap songs. When It comes to country music there are no topics off limit. Country music writers can write songs on just about anything and get away with it. Shoot there are songs called "I Could KIck Your Ass" and songs called "Wanna Be That Song". You could get anything from a slow song about being in the arms of the one you love to a song about drinking a beer. You never know!
4. It's Patriotic
With the election approaching everything is becoming well... about America. Let me tell you there are plenty of songs about America when it comes to country music. Artists such as Toby Keith, Martina McBride and Johnny Cash are some good examples of artists who can show the patriotism in country music. "Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land. God bless the USA."
5. You Appreciate Where You Come From
Have you ever heard the song Small Town USA or Tattoos on This Town? Well, if you haven't you are missing out! Country music helped me learn to appreciate my home town of Matoaca more than anything. The songs talk about close knit communities and let me tell you if something happens around our town the whole town comes together to help. I am proud of where I come from and country music reminds me of where I am from.
6. Coutry Music Has Humor
From Honky Tonk Badonkadonk to Some Beach some country songs will make you laugh. Not all songs need to be serious. Sometimes when you go to the bar you just want to listen to a good, funny song and have a laugh over your beer. Humorous country songs are the best when you are with friends. You can sing them at the top of your lungs and not look like a complete fool. Want to have some fun? Grab a beer and turn on some Trace Adkins.
7. You Can Listen Anywhere, Anytime
Country music doesn't just have one place to be listened too. You can listen in your car, at work or even at home. It's fun to have a fire with good friends and have the truck windows down with country music rolling out. Personally, when I am in my jeep there is no better place for country music. I love having my system on bumping to a good coutry song. No matter where you are there is always a good country song to go with the place you are located.
8. It's Easy to Relate to
Finally, my most important reason why I myself love country music is because it is so easy for me to relate to. When I am driving down a back road and a good country song comes on I become overwhelmed with a feeling of understanding. Sometimes I feel like country music is... well... the story of my life. Being able to relate to something sometimes gives your life more purpose than you though it had.
Coutry music in my opinion is hands down the best music. It sums up America, love, and sadness in its songs. There is a good song for every emotion that you could possibly feel. Country music is a gift from God if you ask me and I am proud to be a country music fan.
