There's always a few guests at weddings, parties, bars, clubs, and even in their own home who refuse to feel the rhythm. As a dancer of over 17 years, I'm here to provide you with a list of 8 reasons why you should always make your way to the dance floor. So next time, "When you get the choice to sit it out or dance.. 1. You will look more out of place sitting it out.
More than likely the majority of guests are going to bust a move. If you're nervous about looking dumb remember you may stick out more sitting alone at a table nervously watching or checking your phone.
2. It burns calories!
One hour of aerobic dancing can burn up over 400 calories! Exercise that is fun?! You really can't lose! (It worked for Britney)
3. It will boost your confidence.
Everyone has their own moves and swagger, if you just let loose you'll feel way more confident in your own skin.
4. We all deserve to be Beyonce or Bon Jovi for one or two songs.
I slay, I slay, all day. We gon' slay. ALL DAY.
5. It takes major courage.
It takes a lot of guts to make that first move but it will feel freaking fantastic. Free yourself!
6. It bonds people.
Dancing together will create relationships that will last forever... or at least until in the end of the night! It also is a great way to break the ice.
7. It will destress you.
Similar to running, dancing has been known to clear the mind and help destress us of all our heavy toxins.
8. BONUS: It may aid in avoiding annoying people.
If you get sweaty it's an excellent excuse to get out of that hug with relative or friend you barely know!
So, maybe you'll surprise yourself and find out you're the next Jenny from the Block! But even if you're not don't be afraid show off your passion and dance like Taylor swift at every awards show since the beginning of time. If she can do it so can you.
