The Sims 2 provided many different opportunities for users to experience life, from owning a business, to having a first kiss, graduating college, and owning pets. Without cheats, a lot of these accomplishments would take forever, because sims are so needy, requiring keeping their needs high, or they may refuse to do something. Here is a list of some of the best things about The Sims 2.
1. Creating a family.
Choosing between toddlers, children, teenagers, adults, and elders provided many different options for different types of families. There was also a skin color option, enabling users to create mixed-race families. After the basics of sex, name, skin color, and age, choosing their wardrobe allowed players to customize each sims’ personality.
2. Designing a home.
Building, or just decorating a house, is one of the best things about the sims. There are so many options regarding wall colors, floor types, and lighting. The ability to create kid-friendly bedrooms, romantic getaways and private bathrooms is just a small part of the fun. The sims can also have huge pools, ponds, basketball courts, ice skating or rollerblading rinks, and even helicopters on their property. The sims definitely have a more interesting life than mine!
3. Attending university.
The ability to send teenage sims to university taught players to apply for scholarships, that attending class and studying are key to passing semesters, and that good grades will be rewarded with money. It even gave users the ability to choose a major for their sims, have them join a Greek house, and the university campuses were equipped with libraries, gyms, and student unions. And, at the end of those four tough years, sims had the ability to throw a graduation party, and after the party, the sim graduated and grew into an adult.
4. Finding a job.
All the sims had to do to become employed was click on a newspaper or computer, and choose find job. After selecting which job they wanted, they were employed, and a carpool even came to pick them up! Man, I wish that’s how life really worked. Sims had the ability to advance quickly in their career, too. After filling certain skill points, and making enough friends, sims were easily promoted, and it didn’t take long before they were at the top. Sims even have the opportunity to earn vacation days and women receive automatic maternity leave.
5. Having pets.
With the ability to have pets, sims are able to teach their pets commands, such as come here, roll over, and play dead, as well as train them to stay off the furniture, not dig holes, and be friendly. One awesome thing about pets is that the pets can also have jobs! They can be in the showbiz career track, the security career track, or the service career track. Sims can also have birds, fish, and womrats. These come with responsibility, because sims have to remember to feed and play with these small pets, or they die, and sims have to clean the dead carcasses of their beloved pets out of the cages.
6. Owning a business.

7. The wacky creatures.
Sims can become plantsims, witches or warlocks, werewolves, vampires, and even zombies. Each of these different sims offers unique advantages, such as the ability to spawn children quickly, or cast spells on other people, either good or evil. One thing for sure is that this is the part of the game that becomes more fantasy, and less realistic.
8. The cheats.
Everyone knows ‘motherlode’ gives the sims household 50,000 simoleons, and that ‘maxmotives’ maximizes all of the sims needs. Without these cheats, sims wouldn’t be able to do anything fun, because they would need to be eating, sleeping, or showering. These cheats make the game more fun, and gives the sims more opportunities to explore their lives.
The Sims 2 mirrored everyday life, but it was somehow better. Jobs and promotions are easier to come by, first dates easily end in marriage the same day, and cheats make getting rich quick really easy. The Sims 2 will always go down as one of the best games in history.
