Fall may be my absolute favorite season ever and I know I’m not the only person who loves fall. It’s the season where my inner basic girl comes out. I’m at my peak during fall so there’s a ton of reasons I look forward to the coziest season.
1. The weather is perfect.
One of the most beautiful things in the world is the clarity of the autumn sky. There are barely any clouds to block the brilliance of the shades of blue that cover it. The temperature is not overwhelmingly hot and humid like it is during the summer, but it hasn’t reached the frigid dryness that’s characteristic of winter.
2. There’s so many outfit options.
With the perfect temperature comes great wardrobe choices. It’s the time of year where I can finally break out my jackets, scarves, and boots. Layering comes back into my style repertoire and it becomes socially acceptable to wear dark lipstick regularly.
3. It’s cozy.
Fall is the time of year that I can curl up in a blanket next to the fireplace with a cup of spiced tea. I love how the whole season has an overwhelmingly snuggly feeling.
4. Pumpkin everything.
Pumpkin is back during fall! Starbucks brings back the cult favorite PSL, home goods stores break out pumpkin scented candles. Suburban moms stick pumpkins outside of their houses as a signal to the rest of the world that fall has indeed begun. Autumn is the season of pumpkins, and I embrace that wholeheartedly.
5. Halloween.
After Christmas, Halloween is definitely my favorite holiday. While I’m not a huge fan of scary stuff, I am a fan of candy and slightly questionable costumes. Halloween gives people the opportunity to be whatever they want to be for one night, which is pretty darn cool.
7. Autumnal activities.
There’s so much to do in autumn, from pumpkin patches to corn mazes, there’s an activity for anyone. I get so excited to go picking apples at a local orchard or even making a leaf pile and jumping into it like a child.
8. Baking.
I’m not a great cook, but I’m actually really good at baking. Fall is the time of year where pies and cookies get more in demand. My mother has the best apple pie recipe that I look forward to baking with her every single autumn.
There’s a ton of reasons that make me adore fall, but I can’t list them all without writing a novel about the season. Let the autumnal festivities begin!
